When you decide to embark on a money saving, frugal living or money making journey you are full of motivation and enthusiasm, but keeping the momentum up can prove difficult.
Deciding to live this lifestyle can sometimes be tough, especially in the down times when nothing seems to be moving and you feel like you've exhausted every avenue, you can lose sight of your goals and wasting all your hard work by spending can seem very tempting.
When you feel like this don't give up, sit down with a notepad and pen and reassess ! here my top tips for finding what works for you.
Be Honest
Is there something you are doing that isn't working for you, do you resent those surveys that bring in pennies or are you fed up of cutting coupons for items you will probably never use, write everything down that you do to save/make money and go through them one by one, be honest with yourself is there something that is saving or making you a little money but is eating up a lot of time ?
It helps to reassess every month and don't be scared to simply stop doing something if it isn't getting you any closer to your goals.
As a personal example I've just recently joined a lot of new survey sites, some are paying really well others are just tedious but I'm giving them a month then I'm going to sit down with the figures and decide which ones are worth my time and which aren't, it's really as simple as that.
Work To Your Strengths
When it comes to living frugally or making some extra money you really have to it within the boundaries of what you feel comfortable with, although I do believe in trying new things and pushing my boundaries but ultimately doing what's right for me.
I think what I'm trying to say is there are no hard and fast rules, you are not in competition with anyone, you don't need to the most extreme money saver or the best at living frugally, just do the best you can and find what fits for you and your family.
Let Others Inspire You
I love learning about what other people do to make a little extra money or what frugal money saving ideas they are using, you can read about some of my favourite blogs on the subject here I'm going to be listing more this week too.
I find so much inspiration and motivation from people who are trying to live the same lifestyle as I am.
I really hope these tips help you if you are feeling a little burnt out by all the budgeting, saving and making money, think about how good it will feel when you reach your financial goals.
If you have any tips of your own please feel free to share them with me, I love hearing from you.
